Great CC Supplement

This book is great to supplement instruction as we shift focus to Common Core Standards. The book is broken down into 4 short daily sections of problems and a 5th day review of concepts check. These are great to use in centers, or quiet work when students have completed an assignment ahead of the rest of the class. They are also short enough to use in lieu of your morning message, and to send as additional home support. What I love MOST about this book, is the Common Core Standards Alignment Matrix at the beginning of the book that breaks down which standards the children are working on for that week. You can quickly see which standards may need additional support on an individual and whole class level. I bought this and the Common Core Language Arts 4 Today, Grade 2: Daily Skill Practice (Common Core 4 Today) and love both.

Too many words, too little space!

Common Core is the buzzword now for education, and I bought this as a supplement to my first graders homework for the December break. The worksheets supposedly feature the criteria that the CC is going to use.

In a practical sense, these are not great worksheets. They require an adult to read the instructions because each page has lengthy instructions that are far above grade level reading. I was hoping I could hand him a worksheet each day and have him work on it while I cook nearby (like other workbooks at his level). Not so with this one.

Also, the problems are in a small font with a very small space for answers. First-graders typically draw and write much larger than a tiny space that is shown. So it's practically impossible to use, because the lengthy questions don't leave the room needed.

I use this every day with my second graders. I pass them out on Monday and each day the students do one section (4 problems). On Friday they flip it over and do the assessment on the back. It's a great way to review prior concepts and stay on top of misunderstandings. Highly recommend.

Best Romantic Suspense Series I've Ever Read!!!!!

After reading the first book in this series, I had to move straight into the second. This is the best love story I've ever read, and the way the romantic scenarios are written will turn your temperature up a few degrees for sure. Fifty Shades of Gray has nothing on this series. There are so many layers to the story, and the characters are so well developed. The suspense would build, and I had to see how it turned out. I simply couldn't put it down. The books are written so masterfully, and in such amazing detail, that as you're reading this it plays out in your head as a movie. I will start book 3, as soon as I finish this review.

”From its beginnings, psychoanalysis has been interested in the relationship between the mind and the body. However, Freud's attention to pathology focused on psychopathology, with little interest in somatic disorders. Others ― particularly Alexander ― have attempted to develop theories of psychosomatics, but it was particularly the Paris school, and Pierre Marty, who developed a truly psychoanalytic theory of psychosomatics. This volume provides an important introduction, summary and critique of that work, and also offers perspectives on it from around the world. Beginning with a paper by Andr� Green that was originally written as his contribution to a debate with Pierre Marty that never occurred due to the latter's death, it continues with five papers from Paris and five from England, Latin America and North America. They provide theory, clinical reports and contrasting approaches. A useful chronology for both stamp and cylinder seals is provided, as well as information on materials, designs, and stone-cutting techniques. The majority of the photographs and text focus on cylinder seals, but a few stamp seals are also included.

INCREDIBLE text for personal growth

An EfM Interlude text and the BEST one I've seen yet in the past three years.

There is more for consideration in these 136 pages than can be discussed in two short sessions. At five chapters one could consider and easily discuss one chapter per week. Written from an Anglican PERSPECTIVE, I believe that any Christian wishing to deepen their personal understanding can find much to consider; if they are open to the premise that one need to be able to live in tension without insistence that any authority have a corner on absolute biblical knowledge and understanding.

While I can't agree with everything Thompsett offers, I do with most. And that is the gift we are given as theologians ourselves. We must read and interpret thru our eyes and our understanding (in community) to receive glimpses of the mystery with which we are presented, rather than just accepting what we are spoon fed by those some consider leaders.
