"...[Eysenck] expertly weaves together a vast array of research, and proposes a theory which, although as yet not fully tested, suggests a creative and viable synthesis of the research on creativity to date." Shari Tishman, Applied Cognitive Psychology

Out of responsability
By Javier Simonpietri
As no one has reviewed this book, I will do so even though I didn't buy it from Amazon. The book is not the most exciting read ever. It reads very much like a psychology research book. The message behing it all is what's important. Eysenck gives the Minesota Multi-phasic Personality Inventory to creative geniuses and his findings are the following:
1) Geniuses average on the top 15% of the population in all psychopathological scales.
2) Geniuses are always on the top of the Ego Strenght scale.
His argument is that it may be the fact that they believe that they are geniuses that make them so.
It's a good book. I gave it to my brother once as a Christmas present. I'm sure Eysenck would appreciate the extra income.

Great scientific and personal analysis
By Zixiang Zhao
Very comprehensive analysis of genius, creativity, though the writing is sometimes redundant and too technical at times.

Flawed, but Fascinating Deconstruction of the Folk Theory of the Tragic Genius
By Colin Hinckley
It's compelling, there's no way around that. However, many of the arguments postulated by Eysenck seem to be constructed to convince himself (and the world) that he is a genius. He argues that genius can only be borne out of tragedy, a long held folk belief based on the seeming cavalcade of famous geniuses who suffered through less than ideal circumstances growing up. However, much of his research is flawed and unscientific. He says as much in the first few pages, that this more a book of philosophy than hard psychological research. But it doesn't ring wholly true that we're supposed to take this as theoretical social science. It is a fascinating read, if only to decipher Eysenck's own psychology.
